To our beloved Unity Village Chapel community…
Over these many years, I continue to learn, to practice and to trust Unity principles. Though this spiritual journey is not always easy, the one constant that has never failed me is the love and acceptance I experience in our spiritual community. Unity Village Chapel is truly one of the great blessings of my life. Here, I find myself caring more deeply, giving more freely, and being loved more completely than I had ever thought possible.
Our calendar year has once again cycled around to this wonderful season that highlights gratitude and generosity. While the common culture would have us assess our quality of life around how much money we have to spend and what we spend it on, I think you would agree that at Unity Village Chapel, we are fed spiritually in a way that our focus is on the quality of our living…the limitless love we can express and the abundant opportunities we have to express it. I believe that giving is more than what we do. It is who we are. It is organic. I am inviting you to make an extra financial investment as part of our year-end giving campaign, an investment in your quality of living, an investment in your spirituality. And going forward, I request that you find ways each day to experience generosity and gratitude as an expression of God working in and through you. Thank you for the space we share, the Sunday’s we celebrate, the consciousness we ignite, and this dynamic ministry we co-create. Who you are and what you give makes a difference and that is why we are reaching out to you and asking if you would participate in our special year-end giving campaign. You are a giver and your gifts are appreciated.
I stand with you knowing that we want a world that experiences more love and compassion, more peace and prosperity, more principle and promise…more Unity. I truly believe that the teachings of Unity are an immense benefit to our world and living them has an impact. I request that you join me as we close this year “elevating our game” as our Board President Drayton Riley said at our annual meeting in March. I have held on to those words and watched them come alive. I feel we have demonstrated that vision. So together let’s exceed our expectations and shoot for the moon…and as they say, we’ll land among the stars. Unity Village Chapel Year-End Giving Options
Why we do a Year-End Giving Campaign
The Unity Village Board initiated a Year-End Giving campaign two years ago that emphasized creating for our congregants a special giving option above and beyond regular offering/tithing. The focus was to generate revenues sufficient to go into 2015 with the confidence of having a balanced budget. Results in December of 2014 were very positive.
Our Board is in the process this month of creating a balanced budget for 2017. Ninety percent of the income that supports the staffing, administration, programs and events that constitute Unity Village Chapel activity comes from offerings. Most of this portion is attributed to Sunday service giving. The remaining 10% of our revenue is generated from various fundraising efforts and classes/workshops. At the same time, Rev. Erin, the Chapel staff and our Board continuously look for ways to economize and make sure that what we spend has the maximum impact on making your experiences here meaningful.
A very positive trend has been the level of support we are receiving from our on-line “live-stream” community. This is an outreach we have invested in and will continue because there is strong evidence that providing this opportunity has been very impactful to those who cannot physically attend on Sunday or who don’t have access to a Unity Center.
It is our intention to offer Year-End giving as an opportunity. Your Board is heavily invested in its time, treasure and talent around the objective of having Unity Village Chapel become the “spiritual heart of the Unity Movement.” This is our consciousness and we are hopeful that this is your consciousness as well, and that you will assist in being both the cause and the beneficiary of this happening.
